Transit’s workshops and courses are designed to share knowledge about skills and techniques with fellow artists and interested members of the public.  They are also a means of testing and developing ideas about the art of theatre and performance.  Out of this learning environment can come new methods and motivations for creating, or the inspiration for a new work.  The focus is on the enjoyment of exploration.

Physical Theatre: Creating With The Body

Dates: April 12th – May 17th
Time:   Saturdays 9.30am – 11.30am (6 sessions)
Venue: Underbelly Dance Studio, 1st Floor, 279-281 Smith Street, Fitzroy
Cost:    $200.00

Course Brief:         This series of workshops will make the link between physical technique and the creation of work based on that technique. Various methodologies for creating work will be examined, including rehearsal room techniques and 'jumping-off points'. Classes will contain training work based on the practice of Corporeal Mime, as well as project-based work leading towards the final creation of an original short performance by the group.
